This Privacy Policy explains how Songella, provided by LCD Media Games (“we,” “us,” or “Service Provider”), collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use the Songella mobile application (the “Application”).
By using the Application, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Application.
1. What the Application Does
Songella turns a written idea into an AI-generated song. You describe a song in text, choose a genre and mood, choose vocals or instrumental, and either write your own lyrics or let the Application generate them. The Application returns an audio track that you can play, rename, download, share, and keep in your library.
2. Permissions We Do Not Request
The Application does not request access to your camera, photo library, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, health data, or motion data. It requests no operating-system privacy permissions at all.
You type your song ideas and lyrics; nothing is recorded from your surroundings.
3. Information We Collect
The Application may collect or process the following:
Account identifiers. When you first open the Application, an anonymous Firebase account is created for you. It is a random identifier and is not linked to your name, email address, or phone number. If you choose to use Sign in with Apple, the Application links your account to an Apple-provided identifier so your library survives reinstalling the app or moving to another device. We request no name and no email scope from Sign in with Apple, so Apple does not share your name or email address with us — not even a private relay address.
Content you create. Your song descriptions (prompts), any lyrics you write, and your genre, mood, vocals/instrumental and lyrics-mode selections.
Generated songs. The audio files produced for you, together with their title, creation date, duration, and the prompt, lyrics, genre and mood used to make them.
Generation records. The status of each generation attempt, timestamps, the AI provider’s job identifier, error reasons, and a per-attempt key used to prevent a network retry from charging you twice.
Credit and purchase records. Your generation credit balance and its history, plus, for each purchase, the App Store transaction identifier, original transaction identifier, product identifier, purchase date, store environment, and any refund or revocation date. Subscription start and expiry dates are stored for active subscriptions.
Usage analytics. The Application records a small, fixed set of events through Firebase Analytics: onboarding completed, create screen viewed, generation started, generation succeeded, generation failed, paywall viewed, purchase started, purchase completed, purchase failed, song shared, and song downloaded. These events carry no parameters — they record that the event happened, not what your song was about. Firebase Analytics also collects standard device and app information such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, and country.
Server logs. Cloud infrastructure logs, which may include your anonymous account identifier, job identifiers, and technical error messages, used for operating and debugging the service.
We do not collect your payment card details. All payments are processed by Apple.
We do not use a crash-reporting service. Diagnostic logs written by the Application stay on your device and are not transmitted to us.
4. Advertising and Tracking
The Application contains no advertising SDK. We do not track you across other apps or websites, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share your data for advertising.
The Application deliberately uses the version of Firebase Analytics that does not access the advertising identifier (IDFA). For that reason the Application never shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt: there is nothing to ask you about.
5. How We Use Information
We use the information above only to operate and improve the Application:
- Creating and maintaining your account and your song library.
- Sending your prompt and lyrics to our AI provider to generate a song.
- Storing generated audio and delivering it back to you.
- Tracking generation progress and telling you when a song is ready, failed, or cancelled.
- Granting, spending, and refunding generation credits.
- Verifying purchases with Apple and granting the subscriptions or credits you bought.
- Preventing abuse, fraud, duplicate charging, and unauthorized use.
- Diagnosing errors and improving reliability and performance.
- Complying with legal obligations.
We do not sell your content or your personal data. We do not use your prompts, lyrics, or generated songs to train our own AI models. We do not publish your songs. Songella has no public feed, profiles, comments, or social sharing. Your library is private to your account until you choose to export or share a song yourself.
6. AI Processing and Third-Party Service Providers
To provide the Application we rely on the following providers, and share only what each one needs:
Google / Firebase — authentication, database, file storage, server functions, and analytics. Receives your anonymous account identifier, your song records and audio files, and analytics events. https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Replicate — runs the AI music model that generates your song. Receives your constructed prompt and, if you wrote lyrics, your lyrics. It does not receive your account identifier, your name, or any contact information. Generated audio is returned to our servers and copied into private storage. https://replicate.com/privacy
Apple — App Store purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and Sign in with Apple. We use Apple’s App Store Server API to verify that a purchase is genuine before granting credits. https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/data/en/app-store/
We do not use RevenueCat, advertising networks, attribution SDKs, or data brokers.
7. Where Your Songs Are Stored
Generated audio is copied from the AI provider into a private storage bucket that only our servers can read. Files are never publicly accessible.
When you play or download a song, our server issues a temporary signed link that expires after one hour. The Application also keeps a private copy of songs you play or download on your own device, so your library still works offline. That on-device cache is capped and older files are removed automatically; it is deleted entirely when you uninstall the Application.
8. Data Retention
- Songs and their audio are kept until you delete them. Deleting a song from your library removes both its record and its audio file from our storage.
- Signed playback links expire after one hour.
- On-device cached audio and exported files remain until the cache limit evicts them, you delete the song, or you uninstall the Application.
- Generation job records, credit history, and purchase records are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, support you, prevent fraud, keep accurate accounting, and meet legal obligations.
- Server logs are retained on a rolling basis according to our infrastructure provider’s default retention.
You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us.
9. Your Content and Your Responsibility
You are responsible for the prompts and lyrics you enter and for how you use the songs you generate. By using the Application you confirm that:
- You have the rights to any lyrics or text you submit. Do not paste lyrics written by someone else.
- You will not ask the Application to imitate the voice, name, or identity of a specific real artist or person.
- You will comply with applicable laws when publishing, distributing, or monetizing generated music, including any rules requiring disclosure that a work is AI-generated.
Section 8 of our Terms of Use lists prohibited uses in full.
10. Data Sharing
We share information only:
- With the service providers listed in Section 6, to operate the Application.
- With Apple, to process and verify purchases.
- When required by law, court order, subpoena, or government request.
- When necessary to protect rights, safety, or security, prevent fraud, investigate abuse, or enforce our policies.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- With your consent.
We do not sell personal data.
11. International Data Processing
Your information may be processed and stored in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States, where our service providers operate. By using the Application you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations, subject to applicable law.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data:
- All communication with our servers uses HTTPS/TLS.
- Every server request must present a valid authentication token, and your identity is derived from that token on the server — never from anything the app claims about itself.
- Our database and file storage deny all direct access from the app; only our authenticated server functions can read or write your data.
- Generated audio is private and only reachable through short-lived signed links.
- API keys for our AI provider and Apple credentials exist only on the server and are never included in the app.
No internet-connected system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
13. Children’s Privacy
The Application is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, use the Application only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
14. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request deletion of your personal data.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
- Request information about how your data is used.
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
To exercise these rights, email us at lcdmediagames@gmail.com. We may need to verify your request before responding.
Because anonymous accounts carry no name or email address, we may need information from within the Application — such as your account identifier, shown in Settings — to locate your data.
15. Your Control Options
You can limit or stop data collection by:
- Deleting individual songs from your library inside the Application.
- Uninstalling the Application, which removes all locally cached audio and, if you never used Sign in with Apple, makes the anonymous account unreachable.
- Managing or cancelling subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.
- Contacting us to request deletion of your server-side data.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of the Application after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
